The Performing Arts Department at FET College Dhúlaigh delivered their showcase “Space Between Songs” recently in the Sean O’Casey Theatre, East Wall, highlighting the creativity, talent and collaboration of students across the programme.

Presented by the college Dry Ice Theatre Company, the performances provided an evening where big stories unfolded ten minutes at a time. Each short play created a vivid, self-contained world filled with humour, tension, surprises, and moments of truth. The fast-paced format kept the audience captivated throughout, with every piece offering something fresh and memorable.

This year’s event was notable as second-year theatre performance and production students stepped into the role of directors, guiding first-year performers in bringing a series of dynamic short plays to life. Their leadership and artistic vision were evident in every scene, resulting in confident, engaging performances from the first-year cast.

Students performed mini musical mash-ups that showcased their versatility, stage presence, and creativity. These lively performances brought an additional layer of excitement to an already dynamic evening. The show opened with high energy and maintained its momentum throughout, culminating in well-deserved standing ovations.

Applications for performing arts and more than 70 other courses beginning in September are now open at www.dhulaigh.ie.
