Nutrition and Lifestyle Coaching – Exercise, Health and Fitness 

FET College Dhúlaigh has developed an exciting new course to meet the growing demands of the Health & Fitness Industry.

Launch your career in the growing health and fitness industry with our dynamic Nutrition and Lifestyle Coaching course. Designed for those passionate about health, wellbeing, and helping others achieve lasting lifestyle change, this programme combines practical fitness training with evidence-based nutrition and coaching skills.
Students will have the opportunity to gain an internationally recognised iTEC-accredited Industry Award in Personal Training, alongside a range of QQI Level 5 and Level 6 modules, providing both practical industry qualifications and nationally recognised academic awards. In addition to developing expertise in fitness and nutrition, learners will also complete modules needed to build a successful brand and business with the health and fitness industry.

This course equips learners with the knowledge and confidence to support clients in areas such as fitness, nutrition, behaviour change, goal setting, and overall wellbeing. Ideal for aspiring personal trainers, wellness coaches, fitness professionals, or anyone looking to build a rewarding career in the health and fitness sector.

With a strong focus on real-world skills, hands-on learning, and professional development, graduates will be prepared for employment in gyms, fitness centres, wellness settings, or to progress to further study within the health and fitness field.

Course Structure

This 26-week course combines classroom-based learning days with practical activities and gym based sessions in FET College Dhúlaigh.

Personal Trainer ( ITEC level 3) – REPs approved

Fees/Allowance

There are no fees for BTEI eligible students. Applicants in receipt of a Social Welfare payment will keep their payment whilst studying on the course under the Back to Education Allowance scheme. For those not in receipt of Social Welfare there is a course fee.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must hold one of the following: QQI level 5 certificate (in a relevant area) or above or Leaving Cert with PE or Biology.

Mature students, and those without a formal education, are welcome to apply for consideration.

Applicants must have a willingness to participate in practical sessions, be able to engage in physical activity and the ability to commit to the course.

Applicants whose first language is not English may be asked to complete an English proficiency test prior to acceptance.

Please note that applicants outside of the EU must hold a Stamp 4 letter to be eligible to apply for the programme.

The course is subject to change and minimum participants are enrolled.
